LEASING

LEASING

Aircraft leasing comes in three different forms:

(1) Dry lease- requires crewing, insurance, and maintenance responsibilities bestowed on the lessee. Usually, an agreed aircraft rental fee is paid monthly. A deposit of two- month rental fees is mandatory- the first month rental fee is paid prior to aircraft departure.

(2) ACMI lease- the lessor is responsible for aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance. Lessee is only responsible for the agreed hourly rate of guaranteed aircraft utilisation per month. Crew accommodations and per diem are shouldered by the lessee.

 (3) Wet Lease- all the operational costs of the aircraft are the responsibilities of the lessor; lessee simply pays the agreed daily, week, or monthly charter rate.

(4)  Lease finance—involves aircraft leasing with a portion of the release fees deducted toward the acquisition price of the aircraft.
